Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarten students are curious, creative, and excited to learn. They bring unique personalities, ideas, and experiences into our classroom each day. They especially love learning through hands-on activities that allow them to use their imaginations, talk with their classmates, and make meaningful connections to the world around them.

My goal is to create purposeful play and writing spaces where every child feels confident communicating, creating, and learning.

The play kitchen will give my students opportunities to build vocabulary, solve problems, cooperate, take turns, and practice real-life routines through imaginative play. As they pretend to cook, serve meals, and run a restaurant, they will strengthen their language and social-emotional skills in a natural and engaging way.

The writing center organizer will make paper and writing materials inviting, visible, and easy for students to access independently. Students will be able to create menus, grocery lists, signs, recipes, pictures, and stories that connect their play to early literacy. These resources will help transform playtime into meaningful learning while encouraging creativity, independence, communication, and a lifelong love of learning.
