More Than Pencils: Caring for the Whole Student

Help me give my students a welcoming, supportive classroom where their basic needs are met. At our Title 1 school, snacks, hygiene products, and classroom essentials will help remove barriers, build confidence, and allow students to focus on learning.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their resilience, their personalities, and the potential they bring into my classroom every day. I want them to know that regardless of their circumstances, they are valued, capable, and deserving of the very best.

The scissors, markers, stapler, and hot glue gun will allow us to create engaging, hands-on projects that bring history to life and give students opportunities to demonstrate learning creatively.

Healthy snacks will help students who come to class hungry stay focused and ready to learn, while hygiene products will be available discreetly to help students feel comfortable and confident throughout the school day.

I intentionally chose quality supplies rather than simply choosing the least expensive options. Quality materials last longer, withstand daily classroom use, and ultimately allow me to serve more students. More importantly, I want my students to see that their classroom and their education are worth investing in. Many of my students face challenges outside of school, but when they walk through my classroom door, I want them to know one thing without question: they deserve quality, dignity, opportunity, and someone who believes in them.
