SEL Connect Corner

Help me give my students a "Connect Corner" to support SEL and build relationships with my students.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will complete my SEL Connect Corner, a safe space for students to conference with a teacher or engage in one of the seven types of rest, specifically emotional, mental, creative, physical, or sensory. I already have two different types of flexible seating options and a soft rug to bring the space together. I hope this nook will create an advisory space that welcomes mentor-student conversations, fosters self-advocacy and regulation, and supports the whole child in each of my students.

In this supportive space, my co-teachers and I can break away from traditional conferences at desks and create a calm escape to discuss goal-setting, personal growth, and class reflections- laying the foundation for deep interpersonal relationships and empowerment for success.

Your generous support will directly fund supplies for SEL activities and a plant to bring nature and life into the space. I hope this Connect Corner will become a launchpad for student success because students will see how much we are invested in them as growing young adults.
