Flexible Seating for the Classroom

Help me give my students lots of flexible seating options! My classroom model depends heavily on group work, and allowing students to move around the room with cushions and pillows will encourage the creative juices to flow!

My Project

My students are 8-9 years old, years where socializing and group projects are doing their most amazing work. I depend heavily on group work, turning and talking, projects, and a positive classroom community fostered by students' respect for each other.

For students, moving around the room to make their own creative space is crucial to their development and understanding of the content.

Having a safe space to break away from what they understand as "desk work" helps get those creative juices flowing! These flexible seating options also allow students to work in group projects easier and more equitably as they get to make the decision of where and how to sit to work together.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
