My Project

Last year, our Student Ambassadors were challenged to think like leaders by identifying ways to improve our school community. As they gathered feedback from their classmates and reflected on their own experiences, they recognized a simple but meaningful need: our playground needed more places where students could gather, connect and belong.

Our Student Ambassadors imagined a playground where every Lion has a seat at the table.

With this project, we hope to add durable commercial picnic tables, including an ADA-accessible table, that will create welcoming spaces for students throughout the school day. During recess, these tables will provide places for friendships to grow, conversations to happen, and students to recharge. During the school day, teachers can transform them into outdoor classrooms. By including accessible seating, we can ensure that more students have the opportunity to learn and spend time alongside their peers.

These tables represent much more than outdoor furniture. They are a lasting reminder that student leadership matters. When our Student Ambassadors identified this need, they weren't asking for something just for themselves, they were thinking about every student who shares our playground. By bringing their vision to life, we are showing our young leaders that their ideas can create meaningful change.
