My Project

My kindergarten students are enthusiastic, curious, and eager to learn, but many of them need hands-on opportunities to make new concepts meaningful. My classroom is filled with children who bring different languages, experiences, strengths, and learning needs. These students are incredibly special because they are resilient, creative, and excited to discover the world around them. My goal is to create a classroom where every child feels successful, included, and confident while developing the academic and social skills they need to become lifelong learners.

The materials in this project will give my students opportunities to learn through play, movement, exploration, and collaboration.

Ten-frames, fruit counters, tactile numbers, base-ten blocks, and the magnetic place-value frame will help students build a strong foundation in counting, number sense, addition, subtraction, and place value using concrete objects they can see and touch. Playstix, geometric shapes, and building blocks will encourage STEM thinking, problem-solving, spatial reasoning, and teamwork. Reading phones will allow students to hear themselves read, supporting phonics, pronunciation, fluency, and language development—especially valuable for my ELL/ML students. Dry-erase paddles will give every child a voice during lessons, even when they may not yet feel comfortable expressing an answer verbally.

My goal is to make learning accessible, engaging, and joyful for every kindergartener. The rainbow classroom rug will provide a welcoming space for whole-group learning, collaboration, and community building, while Play-Doh, therapy putty, sensory ten-frame poppers, art supplies, and other hands-on materials will support fine-motor development, creativity, and self-regulation. With these resources, I hope to help my students become confident problem-solvers, communicators, readers, mathematicians, and kind classmates. Your support will do more than provide classroom supplies—it will give my students the tools and experiences they need to learn, grow, and believe in themselves.
