My Project

Every student deserves the opportunity to fall in love with reading while holding a book they can be proud of.

This year, my fifth graders will read Esperanza Rising, one of the most meaningful novels in our curriculum.

Unfortunately, many of our current class sets are nearly a decade old. Last year, I spent time before lessons taping pages back into books so students could simply follow along. Missing pages, torn covers, and damaged bindings often distracted from the learning experience.

As a Title I school, our students deserve access to high-quality classroom materials just as much as anyone else. A fresh class set of Esperanza Rising will allow every student to fully engage with rich discussions, annotate text, build vocabulary, and strengthen critical reading skills without worrying whether their book will fall apart in their hands.

When students receive books that are clean, complete, and cared for, it sends an important message: your education matters.

Your generosity will replace worn-out materials with books that can serve hundreds of future readers, helping create meaningful literacy experiences for years to come.
