Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every child walks into my classroom with a unique story, background, culture, and set of experiences that makes them who they are. My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged to become the best version of themselves.

As my third graders grow academically and personally, I want to provide them with opportunities to explore, create, problem-solve, collaborate, and learn from their mistakes.

The supplies in this project will help provide the everyday materials they need to be successful while also giving them opportunities to develop important skills they will use far beyond third grade.

STEM toys will encourage curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that are important for future careers and career readiness. Fidgets and sensory tools will give students positive ways to regulate their emotions, refocus, and return to learning when they need a moment to reset. Pencils, glue sticks, sharpeners, office supplies, and cleaning supplies will help us maintain an organized, prepared, and welcoming learning environment. Small prizes and treats will also allow me to celebrate students' effort, growth, kindness, and positive choices.

Most importantly, this project is about helping my students understand that learning is a journey. I want them to know that their background does not limit their future and that their ideas, creativity, and unique perspectives are strengths. With the right tools and encouragement, my students can continue growing into confident learners, problem-solvers, collaborators, and future leaders.
