My Project

A classroom rug is so much more than a place to sit—it’s where our classroom community comes together every single day. From our morning meetings to read-alouds, class discussions, and partner activities, the rug is the heart of our classroom.

Each morning, my students gather on the rug to greet one another, build relationships, and start the day feeling connected.

It’s a space where they learn to listen, share ideas, celebrate successes, and support one another. Those moments help create a classroom where every child feels like they belong.

Throughout the day, the rug becomes a flexible learning space. It gives students a comfortable place to collaborate with classmates, participate in hands-on lessons, and engage in meaningful discussions. Whether we’re solving a math problem together, diving into a great book, or sharing our thinking, having a designated gathering space helps students stay engaged and focused.

A quality classroom rug will provide my students with a welcoming place to learn, grow, and connect—not only with the content we’re learning, but with each other. It will truly become the foundation for building a positive classroom community where every student feels seen, valued, and excited to learn.
