This shift is especially crucial during busy morning circulation hours; instead of waiting for assistance, students can confidently locate their favorite genres or discover new interests on their own. This autonomy doesn't just reduce traffic jams at the checkout desk, it builds a sense of ownership over their own reading choices.\r\n\r\nJust one example, I have a 1st grade student who is from another country and has always struggled with juggling ESL and learning the Dewey Decimal System (understandably so).
