Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are motivated, creative, and eager to prepare for careers in healthcare. They participate in Health Science, Advanced Studies, Pharmacy Technician training, HOSA leadership activities, hands-on laboratory experiences, research projects, and career-readiness assignments.

Many of my students manage demanding schedules that include multiple classes, jobs, family responsibilities, athletics, clubs, certification preparation, and after-school activities.

Keeping track of assignments, meetings, project deadlines, and personal goals can become overwhelming without an effective organizational system.

This project will provide each student with an academic planner that can be used throughout the school year. Students will record daily assignments, assessment dates, certification deadlines, HOSA events, research-project milestones, and important school responsibilities. They will also use their planners to establish weekly goals, monitor their progress, and reflect on areas where they need additional support.

The planners will help students build routines that encourage responsibility, preparation, and independence. These habits will support them in my classroom and prepare them for college, technical training, employment, and future healthcare careers.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
