Supplies & Organization for Optimal Education

Help me give my students dry erase clipboards and organized access to daily supplies.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project aims to eliminate learning barriers and maximize instructional time by outfitting every student desk with a dedicated supply organization tray and a multipurpose dry-erase clipboard. In our Title I classroom, equal access to ready-to-use tools builds student self-sufficiency, reduces transition anxiety, and keeps our focus squarely on engagement, creativity, and academic growth.

Our students bring incredible eagerness, curiosity, and creative energy to school every day.

However, economic hardships mean many families cannot supply standard classroom items. As a Title I school where a majority of students qualify for financial assistance, unequal access to basic tools can lead to quiet frustration and lost momentum during lessons. The daily friction, without dedicated desk storage, students waste valuable minutes retrieving items from cubbies, searching through cluttered backpacks, or waiting to share limited resources. The equity gap, when students lack basic supplies at their fingertips, creates unnecessary social friction and disrupts the flow of learning.

The solution, stationing curated organization trays and multipurpose tools directly at each student’s desk ensures every child starts each lesson on equal footing—ready to create and learn from minute one.

By keeping daily essentials (pencils, markers, erasers, glue sticks) organized directly at each desk, we eliminate the daily scramble for supplies. Students can immediately transition into independent or partner work without leaving their seats. Instead of managing multiple single-use tools, dry-erase clipboards serve a triple purpose: interactive whiteboards (for quick checks for understanding, math practice, and collaborative brainstorming), mobile workspaces (allowing students to move around the room, work on the floor, or clip worksheets securely during flexible seating times), and paper & waste reducers (reusable surfaces significantly reduce our reliance on single-use worksheets).
