This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Social emotional development is one of the biggest areas of support needed for many students in pre-K, beyond even literacy and math. The Little Spot of Emotions kit provides several kid-friendly explanations and exercises to support social emotional learning (SEL) in the classroom. Other books in this project present specific areas of concern often found in today’s youth. Equally, I, as their teacher, would further my own understanding of SEL in order to properly support them. Parts of this include recognizing and imitating various emotions, and utilizing tools for emotional regulation.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
