Help me give my students an equal education that is unlimited and protected from public school budget cuts. Stressing personal purchases for copy paper and school necessities limits what I can do.

My Project

My students coming up in fifth grade this year are the same group of students I taught in third grade! They were a fun, diverse mixture of personalities, but also learning abilities. With our district's current budget crisis, extra expenses such as copy paper and classroom necessities come out of my pocket, and it limits the work that I can do. As the 5th grade level reading teacher, I want to build a reading lab that deepens their love and interest in reading! I hope to build great readers!

By preparing passages for comprehension and materials for enriching small groups, the copy paper will allow students to have their own copies to read along.

The headphones will allow me to assign read alouds for my struggling readers on their Chromebooks and the novels will be used to do book studies where everyone can read together.

My School is a title I school, and many of our students don't have the experiences I got to make as a child. I want to gain their interest by opening up opportunities in my classroom that they wouldn't otherwise have.
