Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of the things I already love about my students is that every one of them will walk into our classroom with unique strengths, interests, and learning needs. My class includes advanced learners who are eager for new challenges, students receiving exceptional children’s services, and many readers at different levels. My goal is to create a classroom where every student can find books that make them feel excited, capable, and inspired.

A classroom library is so much more than a shelf filled with books, it is an invitation to discover new worlds, ask questions, build empathy, and develop a lifelong love of reading.

The Magic Tree House collections will spark curiosity through adventures in history, science, and cultures around the world. The Harry Potter series will encourage students to tackle longer, more complex novels while fostering imagination, perseverance, and meaningful discussions about friendship and courage. The Girls in STEM books will introduce students to inspiring women whose discoveries changed our world and help every child see that they, too, can dream big. The Who Was? Who Is? series will support our reading and social studies learning by bringing historical figures and important people to life in an engaging, accessible way.

As a first-year teacher building my classroom library from the ground up, these books will become some of the most used resources in our room. My hope is that students won’t just become stronger readers, they’ll become children who choose to read because they’ve discovered books they truly love. Thank you for helping create a classroom library where every child can find a story that sparks their curiosity and helps them grow.
