My Project

As a fourth-grade ELA teacher, I teach two different classes of students every day through a team-teaching model. Throughout the day, my students move between classrooms, carrying everything they need for reading, writing, and learning. While these transitions are an important part of our school day, they can also become hectic when students are trying to gather loose supplies from crowded desks. This project will provide each student with a durable plastic storage tray that fits inside their desk. Instead of searching for pencils, notebooks, or papers, students will simply pick up their organized tray and transition quickly to their next class.

Having all of their learning materials in one place will reduce lost supplies, minimize distractions, and maximize valuable instructional time.

Organization is more than keeping a classroom neat—it teaches responsibility, independence, and respect for shared materials. When students know exactly where their supplies are, they can focus their energy on reading, writing, collaborating, and thinking critically instead of searching for missing items.
