From Smart Glasses to Bright Ideas!

My Project

My students come from the poorest county in North Carolina. Every student at our school qualifies for free breakfast and lunch, and many face challenges outside the classroom that make access to educational resources even more important. Despite these obstacles, my students arrive each day eager to learn, solve problems, and prepare for their futures. They deserve a classroom that is engaging, welcoming, and equipped with tools that help them succeed.

The Meta glasses will allow me to create authentic, hands-free instructional content that brings learning beyond the walls of our classroom.

I can record demonstrations, real-world math applications, classroom activities, and step-by-step problem-solving from my perspective, giving students another way to review concepts at their own pace. These videos will be especially valuable for students who are absent, need additional support, or benefit from seeing a process more than once. Students that speak other languages will be able to use the glasses to effectively communicate not only with me, but with their peers while we work together in the classroom.

A thermal laminator and laminating pouches will help me create durable classroom materials that can be used year after year. The string lights will help transform our classroom into a warm, inviting learning environment. I recently acquired floor lamps, but these string lights will help make sure the center of the room gets adequate, yet soft, lighting.

These resources are more than classroom supplies—they are an investment in students who deserve every opportunity to succeed. By supporting this project, you are helping create a classroom where innovation, creativity, and meaningful learning come together.
