My Project

My elementary art students love exploring new ways to create, but they’ve never had the chance to use a pottery wheel. With one pottery wheel in our art room, students will experience the excitement of shaping clay as it spins, learning patience, focus, and creativity along the way.

This pottery wheel will give students the opportunity to try a new art form, building confidence and skills as they create bowls, cups, and other functional artworks.

Many of my students may never have access to this type of experience outside of school, making it even more meaningful.

A pottery wheel will introduce students to a new art medium, strengthen hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, and build perseverance and pride in finished projects.
