Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have created this project with the goals of calming students' anxiety within the classroom and to give them resources to use during outside recess time. These goals are important to student success!

Student success is not just about performance in the the classroom, but also building relationships with their peers during recess!

The recess equipment will give the students different options to play outside and have fun with their friends. The sensory items will provide a way that students can stay focused in the classroom, even when they may be distracted or anxious about other things.

I have found that when students have a calm and structured classroom, they become more focused and successful in their academics. Also, when students have an outlet to let out their energy and have fun, then the classroom is a productive and happy place!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
