My Project

Reading is one of the most powerful ways to build knowledge, empathy, and confidence in students. In our classroom, we love reading—but we don’t currently have enough class sets of engaging chapter books for students to read together.

This project will allow my students to experience the joy of shared reading.

Instead of each student having a different book, we will be able to dive into the same story together. This creates meaningful discussions, deeper comprehension, and stronger connections as a class community.

With these class sets, students will be able to analyze characters, make predictions, and think critically about what they are reading—while also building their love for reading in a fun and engaging way. Shared novels help students who are reluctant readers feel more confident, because they are supported by classroom discussion and guided instruction.

Most importantly, these books will help my students see themselves as readers. They will laugh, wonder, question, and grow together—one chapter at a time.
