This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every child deserves books that help them grow not only as readers, but also as people. My fifth graders are navigating friendships, managing emotions, building confidence, and learning how to overcome challenges. This carefully curated collection of social-emotional learning books will provide meaningful opportunities to discuss empathy, resilience, responsibility, and kindness through engaging, relatable stories. These books will help students see themselves reflected in literature while developing a deeper understanding of others' perspectives. By creating a classroom library filled with stories that inspire compassion and courage, I can foster thoughtful discussions, strengthen our classroom community, and empower my students with life skills that will serve them far beyond fifth grade.
