This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Kindergarten students are eager, curious, and love learning together. Many of them come from low income families in our district. We spend a large portion of the day on the classroom rug during morning meetings, reading, phonics lessons, math, and collaborative activities. Unfortunately, our current rug is worn and no longer provides a comfortable, inviting space for learning. A new classroom rug will create a safe and welcoming environment where students can gather, engage in meaningful discussion, and build strong relationships with their classmates. Having a dedicated learning space will help my students stay focused, feel included, and develop a sense of belonging within our classroom community. This rug will become a central learning space in our classroom and will be used every day for different activities.
