Help me give my students a carpet for our classroom! Moving up to first grade and looping with my students calls for a clean and fresh start (and carpet)!

My Project

My students spend a large portion of their day gathered on our classroom carpet. It is where we start our mornings together, learn new reading and math skills, share stories, celebrate successes, and build our classroom community. Simply put, the carpet is the heart of our classroom.

This year, I am fortunate to be looping with my students into first grade.

Having the opportunity to continue learning and growing with the same group of children is incredibly special, and I want to create a welcoming environment that reflects this exciting new chapter. Unfortunately, our current classroom carpet has seen better days. After years of daily use, it is worn, stained, and no longer provides the inviting space my students deserve.

A new classroom rug would give my first graders a clean, comfortable place to learn each day. It would provide designated seating during whole-group lessons, encourage engagement during discussions, and help create a sense of belonging and community. For young learners, having a cozy space to gather makes a tremendous difference in their ability to focus, participate, and feel connected.
