Candy Props-Giant Size

Help me give my students materials for making giant candy props such as large and small balls, cellophane, ribbon and cardboard boxes.

My Project

Our theme for the Art Show in 2027 is "Candyland".

Students will be making giant-sized props for added collaborative group projects.

We will use common materials to make these, plus use a Cricut machine for printing the candy labels. The playground balls will be wrapped in cellophane after being decorated, and tied at the ends with ribbon creating round, hard candies. The cardboard boxes will be painted, wrapped, and labeled, and become Starburst candies. The small balls will be grouped in fives, decorated with glitter or chocolate colored paint, and wrapped in cellophane and ribbon. The sheets of cardboard will be rolled into tubes to create Tootsie Rolls, along with the cardboard rolls. The duck tape is for wrapping lollipops made from pool noodles which will also be cut and used as Twizzlers, and the paper plates will be assembled and painted as red and white swirl mint candy. We will make gingerbread men from the cardboard figures using brown paint and puffy paint and lastly, cotton candy with the cotton stuffing requested.

These will be displayed at our show at our new school and although I don't know the layout yet, I am sure there will be plenty of wall space. My students love to work together in groups and this will give each class an opportunity to create cute, fun props to go with our show while learning STEAM, patience, teamwork, kindness and compromising. Thanks for considering our project.
