My Project

The Dr. Seuss books in this project are popular in classrooms because they are highly effective tools for teaching phonics, rhythm, and fluency. By using predictable rhymes and repetition, they engage early readers. Additionally, I can use his stories to introduce important social themes like diversity, environmentalism, and tolerance. The playful, nonsensical language and repetitive rhyming words help build foundational literacy skills like phonemic awareness.

Children can make a huge difference in the world, and are capable of more than expected.

In addition to environmental issues, these Seuss books, plushies and pencils can be used to connect children and their families to science, math, and literacy.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
