My Project

My fourth-grade students are curious, creative, and eager to learn, but they thrive when they can actively engage with concepts rather than simply read about them. Many of my students learn best through hands-on experiences that allow them to explore, collaborate, and make connections to real-world situations. This project will provide math manipulatives and educational games that will help students develop a deeper understanding of essential fourth-grade concepts such as fractions, decimals, place value, geometry, and problem-solving. By giving students opportunities to see, touch, and interact with math concepts, these resources will make learning more meaningful, increase student engagement, and build confidence in their mathematical abilities.

Hands-on learning transforms math from something students memorize into something they truly understand.

The manipulatives and games in this project will be used during small-group instruction, math centers, intervention groups, and enrichment activities. Students will use these resources to model mathematical thinking, practice skills in engaging ways, and work collaboratively to solve problems. The goal of this project is to strengthen conceptual understanding, improve math achievement, and help students develop perseverance and confidence when faced with challenging tasks.

These materials will make a lasting impact by providing opportunities for active learning every day. Instead of relying solely on worksheets or traditional practice, students will be able to explore mathematical concepts through interactive experiences that support different learning styles and needs.
