My Project

My students are active and full of energy every day. My students come with many diverse needs, including sensory, movement, and light-sensitive needs. My class loves to be outside and moving their bodies. My students benefit from moving to meet sensory needs and help with social skills. Recess is an essential part of my class's day.

Recess is more than just a break- it is a vital part of learning and social skills.

With this equipment, my students will have accessible playground materials. My school has play spaces that need updated materials for sensory needs and students with disabilities. Students with sensory needs require materials where they can jump and feel different textures.

This project supports not just recess but social-emotional development, inclusion for all needs, choice making, problem solving, cooperation, and gross-motor skills and sensory regulation.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
