Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work at a Title 1 School in Durham, North Carolina. Our students our resilient, bright, and curious. One of the things I work with students on frequently is mindset. We are working with students to develop a growth mindset and belief that they can achieve great things when they put their mind to it.

Help me give my students reminders that our circumstances do not define us.

My goal with this project is to have small tokens with phrases and affirmations when students need encouragement. Just like adults fill their spaces with positive words and treats when they succeed, students can benefit from tangible reminders of their strengths and tokens of recognition when they do well. Thank you for your help in making words of encouragement something concrete that my students can physically hold on to when they need it!
