Help me give my students a memorable pirate day to start off the new school year.

My Project

As the new school year begins, it brings nerves, worries, and separation anxiety for my Kinders. I strive to make the beginning of the school year fun and special as students are adjusting to their new learning environment and classroom family. September 19th is National Pirate Day.

I want the students to celebrate a new school year and create lasting relationships by constructing a memorable Pirate Day for them.

I've selected pirate signs, fishing nets, and additional decorations to welcome the students to Pirate Day as they step into the classroom. Students will utilize the aged paper for writing, much like a treasure map. The literature will enhance the themed day. Pirate Day will come to an end with each student receiving a pirate hat, eye patch, mustache, telescope, and small treasure box filled with goodies. Additional selected goodies will be put in the classroom treasure box for treats throughout the school year.
