Crossing Paths Through Literature

Help me give my students the powerful and engaging novel "Look Both Ways" by Jason Reynolds. Students will explore how stories connect us through shared experiences, perspective, and voice.

My Project

Through the powerful and engaging novel 'Look Both Ways' by Jason Reynolds, students will explore how stories connect us through shared experiences, perspective, and voice. This project will allow students to dive deeply into important ELA skills including point of view, narrative writing, conflict, and characterization.

As students follow the interconnected stories throughout the novel, they will analyze how characters develop, how conflicts shape decisions, and how different perspectives influence the way stories are told.

Students will engage in meaningful class discussions, written responses, and collaborative activities designed to strengthen critical thinking and reading comprehension skills.

This project will also inspire students to develop their own narrative writing by examining Reynolds’ unique storytelling style and author’s craft. By connecting literature to real-life experiences, students will build empathy, communication skills, and confidence as readers and writers.

“Crossing Paths Through Literature” will help create an engaging, rigorous, and student-centered learning experience that encourages students to think deeply, write thoughtfully, and discover the power of storytelling.
