My Project

Help me create a library of books about Black Americans for all of my students to enjoy! These books would be located in the school counselor's office for teachers to "check out" and use in their classrooms.

Creating a library of Black History books for a rural elementary school is an investment in curiosity, identity and opportunity.

For many students, especially in small communities with limited access to diverse resources, books are often the first window into worlds beyond their own. A collection of Black History books-featuring historical figures, everyday heroes, artists, scientists, authors and changemakers-help ensure that every child sees themselves reflected in the stories they read and the lessons they learn.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
