Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their creativity, curiosity, and willingness to take artistic risks. They come into the art room excited to explore new ideas, experiment with color and design, and express themselves in unique ways. Many of my students learn best through hands-on experiences, and they thrive when they are given opportunities to create, problem-solve, and think critically.

This resource will help my students build confidence while developing important artistic and academic skills.

Using lightboxes during our symmetry and design unit will allow students to better visualize patterns, repetition, and balance while reducing frustration for learners who struggle with spatial awareness or fine motor skills. These tools will make art more accessible and engaging for all students, while encouraging independence, creativity, and perseverance.

Through this project, my students will not only strengthen their understanding of visual arts concepts such as symmetry, color theory, and design, but they will also build connections to math, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. Most importantly, these materials will help students feel successful, empowered, and proud of the artwork they create.
