This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello! I am a first year teacher at HVES. We are a Title I school; 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. A lot of students began the year with little to nothing in the way of supplies, so building up my classroom has been quite a task, especially learning what I need as a first year teacher.

I have found that a document camera, to demonstrate lessons and model activities, would be highly beneficial!

Headphones for students are a necessity for lessons like iReady and read alouds on their computers! The wireless keyboard would ling to my classroom Prometheon board to enable typing while teaching to further allow for demonstration on lessons! The printer would allow for copies in the moment to keep children's brains flowing when they finish a task early!

My goal is to make learning more achievable for my students by making sure they have what they need for success, and are able to follow along and visualize assignments through teacher led models.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
