Absorbing Knowledge, Not Chemicals: Rubber Aprons Needed!

My Project

For this academic year, my Physical Science and Honors Chemistry students and I have made the best of a non-traditional classroom. But let's face it, doing science experiments on carpet with absolutely no sinks or gas lines is a recipe for disaster! That is why we are incredibly pumped to be moving into a true, dedicated science lab. :)

Help us cover all our bases and protect our clothes as we trade our carpeted classroom for a new-to-us chemistry lab!

However, moving into a real lab means we are doing real, messy, and potentially hazardous chemical reactions. While we are currently outfitting the room with goggles and hot plates, we also need to make sure my high schoolers have their bodies protected. We can't just brush off the importance of full-body safety! Not to mention protecting their expensive school clothes!

We are hoping to fund heavy-duty rubber lab aprons for our classroom. Unlike cloth aprons, rubber is the perfect solution for a high school chemistry lab, sinceit repels liquids, stops chemical splashes in their tracks, and can be easily wiped down between class periods. With these aprons, my students won't have to worry about a minor spill turning into a ruined outfit or worse....a safety hazard.
