Help me give my students enough 3D shape blocks to be able to explore and discover shapes and their attributes on their own, instead of sharing with 4 or 5 other students.

My Project

First grade students love learning about how the world around them works. One integral area of learning is 2D and 3D shape names, attributes, and compositions. Currently our classes have only a small number of 3D shape blocks for students to explore and learn from.

Giving each student their own set of 3D shapes would allow them to "build" a solid foundation of 3D shapes.

From identifying the shape names, to being able to physically touch and count the sides, vertices (corners), and faces, students will develop a deeper understanding of how 3D shapes are made, as well as how they can be used to build other shapes and objects. Having their own set to use is critical for our hands on learners at one of their earliest stages of learning. What do you say? "Cone" you help us get our hands on 3D shapes?
