Room to Grow: A Laptop for Active Learning

Help me give my students My Pre-K classroom is full of curious, active learners, but our space is limited. A classroom laptop will allow me to assess students, document learning, and plan instruction from anywhere in the room.

My Project

In our Pre-K classroom, every inch of space matters. My students learn best through movement, hands-on exploration, and meaningful interactions, but our current setup limits how much room they have to fully engage. Right now, I rely on a teacher desk and stationary computer to complete assessments, document student growth, and plan instruction, taking up valuable space that could be used for learning.

A classroom laptop would transform the way I teach and how my students learn.

With a portable device, I can move freely around the classroom to observe, assess, and support students in real time without being tied to one area. This flexibility would allow me to remove my teacher desk entirely, opening up more space for centers, small group instruction, and active play.

By maximizing our classroom space, students will have more opportunities to collaborate, explore, and build foundational skills in a comfortable, engaging environment. This project isn’t just about a laptop, it’s about creating a classroom where every child has the space to grow, learn, and thrive.
