Because of your generosity, our classroom has been transformed into a nurturing space where students are learning to recognize, express, and care for their feelings in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nYour contributions provided us with emotional learning tools, reflection journals, feeling charts, and calming resources that we now use daily. One of the most powerful moments happened during our \"Feelings Circle,\" when students used the emotion cards to describe how they were feeling and why. A student who is usually very quiet held up a \"frustrated\" card and shared that math had been hard that morning. With support from classmates, they practiced a breathing strategy together. That moment of honesty and connection showed us how deeply these tools are helping students build emotional awareness and empathy for one another.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate and heartfelt. Students eagerly explored the colorful charts and journals, flipping through pages and asking if they could start writing right away. Many were especially drawn to the calming corner resources—soft seating, sensory tools, and breathing prompts. Several students told me it felt like \"a safe place for feelings,\" which was exactly our hope.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, emotional learning is now woven into our daily routine. Students are becoming more confident in naming their emotions, using calming strategies, and supporting their peers with kindness and understanding. We are already seeing fewer conflicts and more thoughtful communication.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next step is a classroom project called \"My Feelings, My Voice,\" where students will create personal emotion maps and storytelling journals that reflect how they experience and manage different feelings throughout the week. We will also practice role-playing real-life scenarios to build empathy, problem-solving, and healthy expression. These activities will help students deepen their emotional literacy and carry these skills beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the importance of emotional growth and for investing in the well-being of our students. Your kindness has created a lasting impact that will continue to shape how they understand themselves and connect with others.\r\n\r\nWith deep appreciation and gratitude,","fullyFundedDate":1761917271976,"projectUrl":"project/understanding-my-emotions/9657242/","projectTitle":"Understanding My Emotions","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ellison","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9734089_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1738766224522","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9734089"},{"teacherId":9110466,"projectId":8743783,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donations to my 21st Century DonorsChoose campaign, my students now have access to the tools and resources they need to thrive in a modern classroom.
