Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a second year teacher who taught Kindergarten last year and due to budget cuts and an increase in student teacher ratio was moved to a different school and different grade. I now teach 2nd grade and am in need of a variety of 2nd grade items.

My students LOVE to read! I think this would be a great way to show their love of reading by doing reader's theater and acting out the plays. My students will build their fluency by reading aloud. My students will also learn to interpret dramatic plays.

My students need 4 copies each of 4 short plays. The scripts are designed for 4 readers at a time. The students would also benefit from reading plays in the 3rd grade level as some of my students are reading at a 3rd grade level and higher.

You will make it possible for my 2nd grade students to continue to enjoy reading from different genres.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
