I am looking for a donor who can keep my students sharp and on task! I am the visual arts teacher in a rural elementary school where I teach students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Due to budget constraints, my school schedule has greatly changed this year. The amount of time students receive art instruction has been reduced to 50 minutes once a week. In order to keep my students on task and in their seats, I am looking for a donor who will be willing to purchase 6 vacuum mount pencil sharpeners for my students. I have 6 tables in my classroom and would love to have a table mount sharpener for each table. Students love to get out of their seats to line up at the one pencil sharpener in my room. As you can imagine, this many times becomes a discipline issue and takes students away from their work. If students have access to a sharpener at their own work tables, they will be able to remain in their seats and therefore spend more time on their artwork. The sharpeners will be used by all students, approximately 500. They can be used for sharpening regular pencils--which are used daily--and colored pencils. Will you help my students stay in their seats, sharp, and on task? Thank you for reading my proposal!
