School Basics Needed For Music Classes

My students need 150 folders, 15 packs of pencils, and 90 composition books for next year.

I currently teach middle school (grads 6, 7, & 8) in an urban city school. I teach general music classes and band performance classes and the supplies I am proposing will be used for all 180 of my students.

Most of my students are from poverty stricken families with low incomes. Sadly they arrive to school without essential supplies they need for class like pens and pencils. By supplying these essential items, you will be creating a more effective learning environment for these students.

Pencils are treated like gold by musicians! Musicians do not write in pens, therefore the requested pencils will be used by my band performance students. The composition notebooks and folders will be used by my general music students to write their notes on different music genres, composers, instruments, etc., that we learn in class. The composition books proposed will be given to each student in the general music classes I teach in order to ensure they will take proper notes and keep themselves organized.

Please consider donating these supplies to my students who cannot afford these items on their own. Your donation will help almost 200 students get a better education. "The object of teaching a child is to enable him to get along without a teacher."- Elbert Hubbard (1856-1915) American author, editor and printer.
