My Students

Have you ever been confused by math and unable to relate it to real life? I have! I want to help my students relate math to real life and enjoy learning!

My students live in a rural town in North Carolina, at a school that is high in poverty.

My special education classroom is composed of students with a wide range of disabilities. My students are well below grade level in math, but are working very hard to “catch up!” They enjoy learning and love lessons that are hands-on!

My Project

These hands-on games and stories will help make math concepts more accessible and enjoyable for my students. The games will bring concepts to life in an interesting way, while the math stories will help students relate the concepts to real life. Shouldn't learning math be an enjoyable experience? Help me share a love of learning with my students!

Many of my students struggle with math concepts, and often give up, when concepts are presented in a boring or unoriginal way.

By using hands-on games and stories, my students will discover that learning math can be FUN! Thanks for all of your support!
