My Students

We would like to have a positive impact on the world starting with our own community. Our students would like to start their own school store with proceeds going directly to our students and families in need.

Our students are very unique with diverse nationalities, various ethnic backgrounds, and rich cultures.

While many differences exist, they all learn together from an IB philosophy. We focus on internationally minded education and developing positive learner traits. Our students fundraise for international service learning trips to learn about and aid cultures other than their own. Service learning is an important part of our school culture and student experience.

My Project

With the resources the sixth grade team has requested, students will be able to start their own student-ran store. They will be able to sell donated items with proceeds going directly and discretely to our own students and their families that are in need. Students will be helping their fellow classmates while learning about fundraising, running a business, managing money, advertising, and marketing. While students will create advertisements and announcements for their student store on-line, the markers will help students to plan and prepare advertisements to be used throughout the school. The cash register will help students secure the money raised and learn about business management.

This project will allow our students to help others that are closest to them, in the community that means so much in their lives - our school community.

Not only will they be using the content knowledge they already possess but they will be acquiring new skills such as money management. This project could be invaluable to our students and our community.
