Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like when you were in preschool and made an art project? My students enjoy being creative. While we have the basic crayons, paint and paper, I would like to see them experience other forms of art media. They are so excited when we use new supplies!

My students are a group of preschoolers ages 3-5.

They are enthusiastic and hard working. The classroom is an inclusion room, with special education and typical students. Some of the students in my classroom are from homes that do not have the means or resources at home to provide practice for the educational skills learned in the classroom.

My Project

Having a variety of arts and crafts materials available to the students is a wonderful way to allow them to become interested in the "Arts". Exposing my students to a variety of art media will allow them to become less defensive with some sensory issues. Young students learn differently than older students. Students will be able to learn vocabulary, colors, counting, and sharing through a variety of art projects. Fine motor skills are developing now, what better way to enhance than with fun, educational art projects. Many skills can be taught through the use of art with young students!

This is an important project to support because helping children learn the love of the "Arts" at an early age is crucial to their academic years.

When children are proud of what they have accomplished, they tend to have a more positive attitude.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
