Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our classroom is a family, when I asked "the family" at the end of the year what could make our classroom even better they said a new rug! Our current rug is fraying around the edges and has many stains.
I have a classroom that is alive with student driven activities. They may be counting can tabs on the floor, graphing their friend's favorite animal or sharing a story. But they are frequently on the floor!
My class looked at carpets available through catalogs and they all agreed that a rainbow carpet from Lakeshore would be the best. Everyone would have their own space and they could use it for their weekly graphing activities as well.
I know that the future doctors, astronauts, teachers, farmers, plumbers, mothers and fathers in my classroom would love the opportunity to work on a clean and inviting rug where every square is welcoming and none have to be avoided!!
