My Students

Do you remember sitting "criss-cross applesauce" on the floor when you were a child? There are many times during our school day when students are asked to do just that on our hard floors. These deluxe "sit-upons" would make it much more comfortable for my students.

My students attend a high poverty school in an urban area of Washington state.

They enjoy school and are eager learners. One of the few complaints I receive from them is that is is uncomfortable for some of them to sit "criss-cross applesauce" on the floor for a lesson or activity.

My Project

These deluxe "sit-upons" will let my students be more comfortable when they sit on the floor for a lesson or activity. Many times during the day, it is beneficial to have students sitting on the floor in close proximity to the whiteboard. It can get uncomfortable for some students, so I am requesting these "sit-upons" to help alleviate this problem. As an additional benefit, students could also use these cushions to be more comfortable when sitting on the floor to read during partner reading time.

This resource will help make students more comfortable during lessons where they sit on the floor or when they partner read on the floor.

Students who are comfortable are much more likely to be engaged in learning!
