As a high school college and career counselor in a low-income/high poverty high school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. About 90% of our students are on free and reduce lunch. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep them motivated once they graduate from Perris high school and pursue higher education or training. The hope would be to break the cycle that has been happening in this community of poverty and the lack of higher education attainment.

About my class
