There are a variety of different personalities and learning styles present in my classroom. A majority of them would love to work on the carpet. I have students who love to roll while reading a book during independent reading, solve math problems and/or read a book with a partner on the carpet. Each of them would like to have a comfortable spot during "Carpet time".I sometimes struggle with placing them on the rug during whole group instruction because it is way too small for the number of kids in my room. I have been looking for a carpet that will give a personal space for each kid. This will save instructional time by eliminating disruptions and will surely build a strong classroom community where everyone feels comfortable and focused.
