Learning the short and long vowel sounds is a requirement on the kindergarten report card but more importantly the skill will help build stronger readers. These two items will provide engaging practice with the skill so the students can increase their knowledge of letter sounds and apply the knowledge to unknown words. Ultimately increasing their reading skills makes them more successful in school overall. Keeping my students engaged in learning and advancing academically is my ultimate goal. The students will use self correcting puzzles to fit the letters together to build the words by sound increasing their reading and spelling skills. The second item is flip book that the students flip the pages to create 6 -8 simple words that share the same sound which will build their reading and decoding skills. The set has 34 flip books.
