My Project

One of the greatest joys of working at our school is our incredible students. They are kind, resilient, and eager to make a positive difference in the lives of others. While academic growth is important, I believe teaching empathy, compassion, and kindness is equally essential.

The "Rocking Kindness" initiative would give students the opportunity to paint rocks with uplifting messages and artwork, then place them throughout our community for others to discover.

Whether found in a park, library, local business, or walking trail, each rock has the potential to brighten someone's day and remind them that kindness matters.p

This project is about much more than painting rocks. It encourages students to think about how even a small act of kindness can positively impact another person. As they create and share their rocks, they will develop empathy, compassion, creativity, and a stronger sense of responsibility to their community.

To make the initiative even more engaging, each rock will include a QR code so community members can share where they found it. Students would be able to track the journeys of their rocks and see firsthand how their simple acts of kindness spread throughout our town of Webster and possibly beyond. This interactive component strengthens the connection between our school and the community while reinforcing the ripple effect of kindness. In addition, our annual Community Reading Day will feature the painted rocks and the books read that day will be all about kindness and its importance!

I love the students at our Elementary because they continuously demonstrate caring hearts and a willingness to help others. The Kindness Rock Initiative will nurture those qualities while creating meaningful opportunities for students, families, and community members to come together in spreading kindness—one rock at a time.
