Small School, Big Movement: Equipment That Gets Kids Moving!

My Project

Movement is a daily and essential part of our physical education classes, especially for our younger elementary students. In our gym, we use exercise stations and obstacle courses to keep students active, engaged, and excited about learning healthy habits. These activities allow students to build coordination, balance, strength, and teamwork skills in a fun and supportive environment.

What becomes a challenge is the limited variety of equipment available in our small school.

With repeated use, our current equipment wears down quickly, and we simply don’t have enough options to keep activities fresh and engaging for all students. When stations become repetitive or equipment is unavailable, students lose valuable activity time, and it can be difficult to maintain focus and excitement—especially for those who thrive on movement and variety.

By adding new and unique equipment to our program, students will be able to stay engaged, rotate through meaningful stations, and fully participate in obstacle courses without interruption. This will allow for smoother transitions, less downtime, and more time spent building healthy habits through movement.

By donating to our project, you will not only help increase student engagement and participation, but you will also support their physical, social, and emotional development. Students will be able to focus on being active, working together, and challenging themselves—rather than waiting for equipment or repeating the same activities.
